Local Business Tax Receipts and zoning for both commercial and home-based businesses are also part of the Building Division. We assist the citizens and consumers by providing information on whether a business holds a current local business tax receipt for the City of Seminole. Local Business Tax Receipts are issued by the Local Business Tax Receipt Official in the Building Division.
If your business is located within the City of Seminole’s city limits, you are required to obtain a Local Business Tax Receipt. To verify jurisdiction of your business, either visit the Pinellas County Property Appraiser's website at www.pcpao.org or, contact the Pinellas County Property Appraiser's Office at (727)464-3207.
When transferring a Local Business Tax Receipt, you must provide the current Local Business Tax Receipt with your application.

City Ordinance Article IV, Section 42
Unless exempted by State law, it shall be unlawful for any person to either directly or indirectly conduct any business without first having obtained or registered a current local business tax receipt as required by this article.
